Rates
Effective January 1, 2025
Due to increased costs in dealing with unsorted and uncovered loads, the Yuma County Sanitary Landfill has instituted higher fees for unsorted and uncovered loads that come into the Landfill. Please sort out anything that can be diverted from the landfill pit. These items include but are not limited to steel, iron, tree limbs and branches, appliances, tires, batteries. The landfill can take these items but has a separate area for each of them. The fees will start at $100 and range to $500 depending on the size and bulk of the load.
In addition, all uncovered or untarped loads will be charged a minimum of $100. This fee structure became effective January 1, 2024.

Sorting
We request that metal be sorted from trash. (It is hard on tires.) We also have separate locations for cement, construction wood, and trees, in order to reduce waste volume and equipment damage.
Recycling
We accept cardboard, newspaper, magazines, metal, plastic bottles #1-2-3, and batteries.
Special Handling
We are not able to accept liquids in any form. No hazardous materials. Suggestions for paint, dry it out on carpet. Herbicide containers must be triple rinsed. No oil or petroleum. Distillates can be accepted. For all other special materials, call us. Plastic PVC pipe must be cut in 5 feet lengths or shorter. Poly tanks must be in 4 feet lengths. Ag bag-silage covers-pond liners are $70.00 minimum and $70.00 per ton over one ton.
