Road and Bridge Parts Clerk
This position is responsible for the day to day management of the Road & Bridge parts inventory including maintaining inventory records, managing inventory stock levels, ordering of stock parts, and disbursal of parts to facilitate department operations. Responsibilities include coordination with various department foremen and administrative staff to ensure the integrity of inventory management processes.
Land Use Administrator/GIS Coordinator
This position has primary responsibility for receipt and management of County land use applications as well as development and application of land use code including ordinances, permitting, and planning.
Extension Administrative Assistant
Performs a variety of secretarial duties to assist with promotion and coordination of Colorado State University Extension Programs of Yuma County and Golden Plains Area Extension Counties. This position works under the supervision of the Colorado State University Extension Yuma County Coordinating Agent and Colorado State University Extension Golden Plains Area Director.
Driver License Examiner

Here is your opportunity as the Yuma County Clerk’s office is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter individual as a Driver License Technician position. A valid Driver’s License is required for travel to branch office in Yuma two days per week. Having excellent customer service skills is required as well as cashiering experience. Cross-training in other Clerk departments is required. Bilingual is beneficial but not a requirement.
Under direct supervision of the Eligibility supervisor or designee, assesses the needs and determines initial and ongoing eligibility of clients for programs including, but not limited to Food Assistance, Medicaid, Adult Financial, CCCAP, Colorado Works programs for the Yuma County Human Services Department; provides case management services and assists clients in assessing community resources. Duties may vary according to job assignment.
Yuma County Human Services Eligibility Technician

Patrol Deputy Position
If you are interested in a career in law enforcement in a rural setting the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the position of Patrol Deputy. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are interested in making a difference in their community. The Sheriff’s Office is a family first organization that places a high value on the training of it deputies.
Duties performed by deputies are listed below but not limited to:
- Responding to calls for service involving in progress criminal activity in the county
- Investigations into theft, assaults, burglaries & other reported crimes in the county– these can be minor offenses to serious felonies
- Service of civil papers
- Write clear and concise reports detailing facts of investigations.
Deputies are encouraged to be proactive in investigating crimes in Yuma County and will also assist other law enforcement agencies in the performance of their duties. They also must be willing to work shift work, weekends, holidays and be on call.
Applicants must be 21 years old, be Colorado POST certified, have a High school diploma or GED and possess a valid driver’s license. Starting pay is approximately $43,680 per year.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for our Detentions Division! Working in the jail is a great way to start and grow your law enforcement career. Daily tasks may include but are not limited to booking and bonding inmates, serving meals, dispensing medication, coordinating paperwork with the courts, performing cell shakedowns, and transporting inmates. Substantial training hours at the shooting range can also be expected.
Starting salary is $18 per hour. There is a $500 bonus at the end of 90 days and a $1,000 bonus at one year. The Sheriff’s Office also provides excellent benefits and insurance packages including vision and dental.
