Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser recently announced the launch of “The Connect Effect,” an opioid and fentanyl prevention campaign to help communities address the increasing danger of youth pill misuse. “The Connect Effect” materials are now available for community partners. You can access the campaign toolkit linked below, and you can find more resources and learn more at ConnectEffectCO.org.
To support future planning efforts, the Region 4 Opioid Abatement Council hosted a prioritization survey from February through March 2026 for Region 4 residents to provide information about how they would like opioid funds to be prioritized. Survey responses were collected and analyzed, showing a high turnout of respondents who are community members.
The top two most highly ranked priorities were: 1) Treatment, and 2) Prevention and Education. The Council is reviewing the results in detail and is working towards using the settlement funds to meet the community’s needs!
